Old car rules in Ghaziabad
Ghaziabad is part of NCR, so petrol vehicles over 15 years and diesel vehicles over 10 years are treated as end-of-life under the 2015 NGT order upheld by the Supreme Court. As of September 2026, the Supreme Court's order of 17 December 2025 protects BS-IV and newer cars from coercive action, while pre-BS-IV cars are not protected. Ghaziabad was also one of the five high-vehicle-density NCR districts where fuel stations were directed to stop refuelling end-of-life vehicles from 1 November 2025, before that direction was kept in abeyance.
