Important Local Note: Ambala’s Defence & Railway Significance
Ambala is home to a major Indian Air Force base and Army cantonment (Ambala Cantt), along with Ambala Junction, one of the busiest railway stations in the region. This creates unique transport requirements, including movement of defence and official vehicles. Unlike Gurugram and Faridabad, Ambala is not part of the Delhi-NCR region, so the strict 10/15-year vehicle age ban does not apply here.
