Vehicle CategoryStandard Road Tax / Registration Rate
Two Wheelers2% to 8% of ex-showroom price based on cost

Old Vehicle Rules in Lucknow: Is the NCR Ban Applicable?

No — Lucknow is not part of the Delhi National Capital Region, so the NGT / CAQM rule barring diesel vehicles over 10 years and petrol vehicles over 15 years does not apply here. Older vehicles can continue to ply in Lucknow as long as their registration, fitness certificate, insurance and PUC are valid. The statewide rule that does apply is RC validity: a private vehicle's registration is valid for 15 years, after which it must be re-registered and then renewed every 5 years. If the vehicle is later moved into an NCR district, the NCR age restrictions would then apply.
