Old Vehicle Rules in Panchkula: Is the NCR Ban Applicable?
No — Panchkula is not part of the Delhi National Capital Region, so the NGT / CAQM rule barring diesel vehicles over 10 years and petrol vehicles over 15 years does not apply here. Older vehicles can continue to ply in Panchkula as long as their registration, fitness certificate, insurance and PUC are valid. Do note that neighbouring Chandigarh and some tricity areas have periodically enforced their own restrictions on very old or end-of-life vehicles, so check local rules if you drive across the tricity. The statewide rule that always applies is RC validity: a private vehicle's registration is valid for 15 years, after which it must be re-registered and then renewed every 5 years.
